Kentucky State Ambulance Reporting System

The Kentucky State Ambulance Reporting System (KStARS) is Kentucky’s statewide EMS data repository. Kentucky's EMS agencies may either “Collect and Send” their electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) data to the state repository through their chosen NEMSIS-compliant software solution, or via “Direct Entry” ePCR data input through the KBEMS-provided KStARS website, which utilizes ImageTrend Elite.

KBEMS coordinates with numerous industry partners offering ePCR software solutions. KBEMS relies upon the National Emergency Medical Services Information System Technical Assistance Center (NEMSIS TAC) for testing and certification of these software solutions. The NEMSIS TAC maintains a list of certified compliant software on their website here under the Compliant Software Testing Status section. We offer this listing for informational purposes to Kentucky’s EMS agencies who are researching the use of an ePCR solution to meet the KStARS data submission requirements with NEMSIS Version 3.
